The
Dubroom reviews a lot of different material, from
musical to educational to beneficial and more.
We've got music, but also material for artists and
producers as well as researchers of more conscious
material. As always, when the Dubroom reviews
something, this means that this website considers
the material at least fair. So don't expect any
negative reviews. When it's here, we recommend it.
Period.

TONY REBEL
- SWEET JAMAICA (1993)
DUBROOM
VIDEO REVIEW |
WWW,
November 2008 - Before he started Rebel
Salute, before he became known to the world
as another conscious DJ of the time. Tony
Rebel was already going strong.
Jamaica,
Land of Food and Water. That name was given
to the Island by the original inhabitants,
before Christopher Columbus and his gang of
vampires turned it into a big plantation.

LINTON
KWESIE JOHNSON - DI GOOD LIFE
DUBROOM
VIDEO REVIEW |
WWW,
November 2008 - A Video Clip with DUB
Poet Linton Kwesie Johnson is kind of rare.
When it's played on MTV, it's even more
rare.
But here it
is!
When LKJ
entered the scene, the music that came with
his poetry was deep, and hard. DUB effects
and everything was there. In fact, it was
LKJ's "Five Nights Of Bleeding"
that got yours truly hooked on Reggae,
somewhere in the early 1980's.

the MC's Clint Eastwood and General Saint
pop up on stage with a full blown band
to make some fun at the UK based "Old

"Another
One Bites The Dust", is the title of
the tune the DJ Duo performs. They were
known from their world hit "Stop That
Train", as representants of Rub a Dub
Style in the World Charts.

THE WAILERS
- STIR IT UP (OLD GREY WHISTLE TEST 1973)
DUBROOM
VIDEO REVIEW |
WWW,
November 2008 - The "Old Grey
Whistle Test" was a UK program, where
artists performed live. At least, most of
the time. There were artists who playbacked.
Even though
the video is presented as a live
performance, it is more than clear that the
Wailers (Peter Tosh, Bunny Wailer and Bob
Marley) playbacked their way through the
song.
