| Winston
Smith is not a Deejay, but he is a vocalist
and he doesn't sing. Winston Smith is a DUB
Poet, like there is Mutabaruka and the
Founding Father of the genre: Linton Kwesie
Johnson.
His performance at the Reggae Sunsplash
festival in 1981 was completely in line with
the general thought of the festival in that
year: it was to be a tribute to the King of
Reggae, Bob Marley.
In this clip, you see Winston Smith
performing on the "war" riddim,
one of Marleys many hits.
