REGGAE SUNSPLASH 1981: BLACK UHURU

With an all star band where ofcourse Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare form the core, but also other well known Jamaican musicians play along as well, you could say that Black Uhuru is playing a home match here at the Jamaican Sunsplash festival.

Enjoy the track called Plastic Smile, as well as a little bit of Guess Who's Coming To Dinner.

The music is tight. With ease, Sly Dunbar plays very complicated rhythms. The singing has been better, for example at the performance in Essen (also 1981). This could be, because the sound is actually kind of dry.

But the vibe is cool, and watching Mikal Rose and Puma Jones dancing isn't a waste of time either. Duckie Simpson, the third member of Black Uhuru cannot be seen in this video, though. At least, not as far as we can see.
