| In
this clip from a 1978 documentary, the
concept of the Sound System is explained as
we are shown sights and sounds from around
the late 1970's.
One owner is interviewed, as he shows his
records and explains the concept. It turns
out, that the Sound System was the main
vehicle for the Reggae scene to forward
their vibe in the UK and elsewhere in
Europe.
In a segregated society, Sound Systems
had a very positive influence when it came
to black and white people getting to know
each other. And so, Reggae Music was seen as
anti-society with the result that Sound
systems couldn't get acceptance.
