was one of Bob Marley's favorite touring
countries. Not for nothing, as there is a
hard core group of Reggae enthousiasts. And
this is not a new thing either. Just look to
this television recording of a 1981 Black
Uhuru concert in Essen (North Germany).
In this video, Sly and Robbie play some
deadly drum and bass lines. There are some
great shots of Sly hitting the drums! As the
echo's running along, the band plays two
songs: General Penitentiary and
Happiness.
Duckie Simpson, Puma Jones and Michael
Rose (Black Uhuru) give a wonderfull
performance and the crowd is wild! Towards
the end of the first track, Michael Rose
starts to sing (almost) a' capella just
before the band returns with Hapiness. Some
very nice dubby elements evolve out of it.
