British video report from a truly memorable
day is unfortunately not of the highest
quality. But that won't be a problem for the
many people who would never have seen it if
it were not for the Internet.
A historical day indeed. His Imperial
Majesty visits Jamaica, were he is welcomed
by what seems to be the complete island!
After leaving the airplane, he pays honor to Marcus Garvey and to the Jamaicans who
fell in World Wars 1 and 2. He addresses the
people and the parliament, gets a doctorate
at Jamaica's university, and gives money to
the Jamaicans in order to build a school.
Throughout the entire movie, you can see
how the complete population of Jamaica is enthusiastic
about the Emperor. And vice
versa. It is obvious, how Haile Selassie has
more than a heart for the Jamaicans, how he
is a symbol and an Icon not just for those
who believe him to be Jah Rastafari.
